Visit to Oxford City Farm

Visit to Oxford City Farm

Come and enjoy a half term visit to Oxford City Farm! We’ll be visiting this lovely community farm in Oxford, looking at the animals and learning about the vegetables they’re growing.

Please bring your own lunch for a picnic and we will provide light refreshments. We will meet at the Refugee Resource office at 9:30 and travel by public transport to the farm. We will return to Refugee Resource by 1pm. If you prefer you can travel independently and meet us there.

Trip to Living Rainforest

Trip to Living Rainforest

All Refugee Resource clients are welcome to join us on our half term trip to the Living Rainforest

Come and discover the wonders of the rainforest, experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of a lush tropical rainforest. The glasshouses at the Living Rainforest contain over 800 types of plants and animals, including many rare and endangered species. Animals to see include iguanas, sloths, monkeys, snakes and more!

We will be providing a coach to take people to and from the Living Rainforest. Please bring your own lunch for a picnic, and we will provide light refreshments.

We will meet at the Refugee Resource office at 9:30am ready to leave on the coach by 10am, returning by 3pm.

River walk and picnic

River walk and picnic

Come and enjoy a lovely short walk along the Evenlode River at Combe Mill. We’ll learn about the plants and wildlife of the River and hear what our partners are doing to protect it and bring it back to good health. We will test the quality of the river water and enjoy some craft activities together.

We will provide a picnic lunch for everyone to share.

We will meet at the Refugee Resource office at 9:30am ready to leave on the coach by 10am, returning by 2pm. Please bring wellies or waterproof footwear if you have it. If you don’t have boots, please inform the Refugee Resource staff and we can help.

Think Human Festival - From Hostility to Dignity

We are delighted to take part in this panel discussion, setting out to address and challenge the current developments under the UK’s "hostile environment" for migrants and refugees. We will take both local, Oxfordshire-level, and national-level perspectives to understand how migrants and refugees are being adversely affected by recent government attempts to ‘take control’ of immigration.
